The DTG3 is one of the most compact and portable ROVs in Deep Trekker’s product range. This mini-ROV is designed for quick inspections, ad-hoc tasks, and preventative maintenance in difficult-to-reach locations. Without complex installation, the system can be deployed in minutes for professional underwater work, from infrastructure scans to disaster inspections.
What sets the DTG3 apart is its spherical design and patented pitch system. This system allows for significant adjustment of the drone’s tilt angle, allowing for well-controlled steep dives and rapid ascents. The DTG3 can tilt up or down by approximately 85 degrees. This flexibility is particularly useful when using the gripper arm; tilting the entire drone makes picking up objects on the seabed easier.
The sphere houses a camera that can rotate vertically 270 degrees. This is a major advantage in practice. While the ROV itself remains stable in the water, the operator can inspect the surrounding area: from the seabed directly beneath the drone to objects above. The images are sent directly to the handheld controller, providing real-time visibility of the underwater situation.
The DTG3 is designed for operators who are frequently on the move. Because the system runs entirely on internal batteries, no external power supply is required. The batteries provide an operational time of up to approximately 8 hours, depending on usage and conditions. When additional deployment is required, the batteries can be recharged to 100% in approximately 2.5 hours, ensuring high availability.
Despite its compact size, the DTG3 has ample power for inspection work. The two thrusters utilize magnetic coupling, eliminating a physical shaft connection through the housing. This results in a low-maintenance motor section without seals that can wear out or leak. Lubrication is not required, which improves the drone’s reliability and longevity, even with regular use.
The DTG3 is equipped with an intelligent sensor system controlled by Deep Trekker’s BRIDGE-software. The screen displays depth, heading, and water temperature, among other information. Operation is via a lightweight handheld controller, allowing even less experienced operators to navigate quickly and accurately.
The DTG3 can be equipped with a grabber for taking samples or moving small objects. It can also be expanded with features such as sonar for turbid water or an upgrade to a 4K camera. The tether is available in various lengths and ensures a stable data connection during inspections.
